Empathy shapes behaviors
Throughout my years in law enforcement, many have noted my empathy. I was recently reminded while engaging with a community member of an instance where I showed empathy towards one of their relatives. Empathy is crucial as it shapes officers' behavior towards the community.

Being prepared creates safer communities
In my most recent experiences attending events to support fire services. I was inspired to see such a strong collective turnout for public safety and community well-being. Ensuring that your county has a well-prepared, responsive fire service is vital, especially when faced with unforeseen emergencies.

Making community connections
Over the past few months, I’ve been going around the community, meeting people to listen to their concerns and understand their needs. While the primary election is still 15 months away, I believe it’s essential to continue to build these connections and work towards a safer Steuben County together.

Skills learned in the Corps
As a Marine Corps veteran, I take great pride in honoring my fellow veterans for the sacrifices made while serving our country. The Marine Corps taught me leadership skills, teamwork, critical thinking, and a desire to serve others.

Safety in schools means effective leadership
As an instructor for Active Threat training; I have taught numerous businesses, churches, schools, government entities and emergency service personnel - to include Law Enforcement. In light of the potential safety threats our school district has faced over the past couple of weeks, it’s a good time to remember the importance of accountability, leadership and safety.
